Hello! For Sundays, I thought I’d feature full-length things with some shorter pieces: concerts (not necessarily just classical), ballets, operas etc which are available online.
We’ll start with a ballet. Note: for ballets, sometimes the pieces are choreographed dances by notable ballet choreographers set to music. I’ll place the tag (choreography) for people new to this.
Australian Ballet Company w/The Elizabethan Melbourne Orchestra, Barry Wordsworth (conductor) at Sidney Art Center performing The Sleeping Beauty by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Here are some shorter ballet bits:
Pacific Northwest Ballet performing George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco (choreography)
Valentine Colasante & Pablo Legasa, performing Raymonda by Rudolf Nureyev (choreography), music by Alexandre Galzonouv.
And now time for two more long ballets! Enjoy when you have the time. I wish I did! I’ll be watching (or rewatching, in some cases), when I am done with deadlines!
George Balanchine (Director/Choreographer), NYC Ballet, performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn
Here’s another version/choreography of Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream:
Frederick Ashton (choreographer), American Ballet Theatre performing The Dream.
