Things I’ve been watching in the past few months. Mostly, 2026 has been the year of comfort rewatches when I’m home exhausted after work. Also, I watch shows with my meals because it helps me digest food better. Or that’s what I tell myself. Don’t mess with the process!!
- After I finished watching The Originals, I moved on to Legacies (which I also loved, although it could sometimes get a bit annoying) and have now finished watching it. Which brought me right back to...The Vampire Diaries which I started rewatching from Season 1. I’m now at Season 4.
- The finale for Outlander Season 8 pretty much wrecked me, so I’m now rewatching Season 1.
- Also rewatching season 1 of Andor which I started on Star Wars Day, because of course
- I’m slowly watching the latest season of Virgin River but I can’t deny the fact that I get quite impatient with it sometimes.
- Sullivan’s Crossing! Why did no one tell me Luke (Scott Patterson) is in it? And Tristin (Chad Michael Murray). I mean, I can’t even rewatch Gilmore Girls these days because the fatphobia just slaps me in the face but I still have a lot of nostalgia for this series from back in the day when I was slightly less aware of these things.
- Interior Chinatown. OMG. This series is SO GOOD. I wish there would be a second season. Will there be one?!
- I finished watching Sirens which is a jolly good miniseries and I highly recommend it. Iconic performances from Julianne Moore, Megan Fahy (her acting is always top tier no matter what I watch), and Milly Alcock.
- My rewatch of Alias and Lost continues on and off. Mostly off because my comfort watch when I’m tired remains The Vampire Diaries. What can I say, Damon Salvatore can calm down more people than Elena. 😉 Have to note that someone on bsky (in the days when I was active on it) told me that Ian Somerhalder mirrored his performance of Damon off Josh Holloway’s portrayal of Sawyer on Lost, and swear to God, I cannot unsee that now.
- Occasionally, I remember to return to my rewatch of Once Upon A Time. It’s not that I don’t love it. It’s because, well. Sexy vampires, you know.
Honestly, I think my return to TVD-verse vis-a-vis rewatching everything from TVD to The Originals to Legacies (yes, there will be a round 2) will last me through till the rest of the year and probably 2027. And I’m okay with that. I’m totally okay with being a person whose comfort shows have vampires and werewolves in them. I am a Gothic and Popular Culture scholar, after all. And I love my job!
